The film follows 18 years in the life of Takaki Tono. From his poignant childhood meeting Akari Shinohara, a transfer student he shares a deep bond with, through his high school years on Tanegashima Island, to his late twenties working in Tokyo - delicately capturing the passage of time and enduring emotions.
